How to Prepare for In-Home Session
In-Home Lifestyle Family Session
Even though most of my family sessions are shot outside I do enjoy a good and relaxed in-home session once in the while. Especially during those colder and rainy months, and when a new baby arrives. When I shoot outside, I mostly shoot one hour before sunset to get that beautiful soft golden light, or on rare occasions very early in the morning before sun gets too high. But when it comes to In-Home session, I will ask you “what time of the day your home is brightest?”. Usually, it will be later in the morning or early afternoon. And we will work around kids’ nap and lunch schedules to make sure they are at their happiest.
How to prepare for In-Home Session
First of all, don’t stress and don’t go on cleaning frenzy, camera is not going to capture a speck of dust or pet hairs on the carpet. Think of few spaces in the house you would want to be captured, spaces you love to hang out and relax together as family, and maybe just pick up big colorful kids’ toys as they can be distracting in photos. Open up curtains and blinds to let as much light as possible. And if you have a newborn baby have your house at 78-82 degrees, also white noise machine is super helpful if there are older siblings around.

I will follow you whether you want pictures together on your favorite couch, playing with your babies, making cookies together, reading books or nursing your sleepy newborn while toddlers jump around… I will capture beauty of real life in comfort of your own home.
